President,s Speech

Blessed be the God, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath granted us the grace and privilege to see a new season and session. I officially welcome us all to this time the Lord himself hath made to shine His Light in us and through us. The theme for the session states “THE SHINING LIGHT” coined from Isa 60:1-3 and John 1:5. Arise and Shine for the light has come and the glory of the lord is risen upon us, Isa. 60:1. The Lord is saying to the household of RCFFUTA, the Light is already in you and the glory is already risen upon you; all you need to do is to ARISE. When the Lord says arise, He is saying two major things which are: Arise to your training and Arise to your responsibility. Arise to your training means give yourself to prayers and to the study of God’s word, then Arise to your responsibility means take charge in your territory of influence, shine as Light, reflect the Life of God in your territory and reveal Jesus to them through your Life and through personal evangelism.

Light is an electromagnetic radiation that can produce a visual sensation. Light can also be any device serving as a source of illumination. When the bible talks about Light, it refers to the Godhead; God the father (Rev 21:23, John 1:5), Jesus (Luke 1:79, John 12:35) and the Holy Spirit (Prov. 20:27). According to the bible, the Light also connotes supernatural insights into the scriptures, understanding and comprehension, direction, Life, authority and dominion, Love, purity, holiness etc. And all these points our attention to God himself and to Him as the source of all. Finally, there are two dimensions to Light which are: To have the Light and to become the Light. To have the Light means to have an encounter with the Light and the inner workings of the Light in us and through us by the Holy Spirit. To become the light i.e. becoming the lamps of God. This means to become a standard, a reference and a template. When people are looking for Jesus, they must be able to find Jesus in us (Matt 5:14-16). 2 Cor. 3:2 says, you are our Epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men, we are Epistle to the unbelievers. Men must be able to look at our Lives and see the express image of God. Let us all prepare for a mighty move of God this season because his glory is already with us and let us all give ourselves to prayers and study of God’s word as He is said to use every one of us. Shalom
